Asking for Help

Often leaders hesitate to ask for help and the reasons for this reality are many and vary.

Sometimes, it’s because there is a lack of trust that someone else can do a task as good as the leader can do it. This sentiment could be, “if I want this done ‘right’, I have to do it myself’. This could be true to a certain degree but the more that I work with leaders and teams, the more I believe that asking for help and delegating tasks to help others grow is key and vital to the personal and professional growth to the person asking for help and helper.

Just because someone can do something themselves doesn’t always mean that they should.

With burnout at record highs, maybe it is wise to think about how to create harmony between work and home life for the leader and ultimately for everyone else.
